I posted about this in the Cronic Pain section but wanted to put it here for more exposure:
http://opium.poppies.org/index.php?act=ST&f=17&t=563 Just want to hear from anyone who knows about these, tried, etc. They are very wierd. From what I understand, the makers made a drug that would kill pain but not be a good or fun high to prevent abuse. They dont have any warm fussies at all...they feel alot like a speed pill mixed with the physical effect like that of shrooms or something. In general I dont like these at all...is there anyone that does? Laters. This post has been edited by EarAche: Dec 13 2002, 05:48 PM |

Talwin = pentazocine it's in the class called opiate agonist/antagonist (morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone are agonists) in that it has a ceiling effect on the analgesia and euphoria that it will give you, no matter how much you take. As an added bonus the talwin nx have naloxone in them which is a pure antagonist (exact opposite of mophine), but is not well absorbed when taken orally, but if taken IM or IV it is very well absorbed and will end a good trip real fast. They put the naloxone in there to deter people from trying to crush it up and then shoot it up. Pentazocine also is more of a kappa receptor agonist (rather than mu receptor) which is a little different from the mu receptor. Supposed to be less addiction/dependence issues with kappa receptors.
